Product Description
Thread former HSSE DIN 2174
Our HSSE thread formers to DIN 2174 offer an innovative solution for the precise production of metric internal threads. This non-cutting process enables high load-bearing threads with a smooth surface and optimized material strength.
Areas of application:
The thread formers are ideal for machining
- Steel and stainless steel
- Non-ferrous metals such as pure titanium, light metals and non-ferrous metals
- Materials with a strength of up to 1300 N/mm² and material elongation >10 %
Whether through hole or blind hole - these tools offer maximum flexibility and performance in a wide range of materials.
Special features:
- Standard: DIN 2174
- Tolerance: 6HX
-
Design
- With lubrication grooves for optimized process reliability
- Dimensions according to DIN 371 (reinforced shank up to M10) and DIN 376 (overrunning shank from M12)
- Technology: Chipless cold forming for load-bearing threads with consistent dimensional accuracy
Advantages of the thread formers:
- No chips: Perfect for applications where chip formation must be avoided
- Long service life: Up to 20 times longer than conventional taps
- Easy to use: Suitable for through holes and blind holes
- Process reliability: No blending or errors in pitch and flank angle
- High-quality threads: Higher strength due to unchanged fiber course of the material
- Optimized surface finish: Perfect for high-precision applications
- Higher cutting speed: Significantly reduces the machining time
Functionality:
The thread former works with a polygon-shaped profile that compresses the material fibers instead of cutting through them as in thread cutting. This creates material forming pockets at the thread tips and a particularly strong connection
Important information:
High frictional forces occur during thread forming, so sufficient lubrication is essential. For depths up to 2.5 D, the lubrication grooves ensure optimum lubrication.
